Rocking Chair by Hans Olsen with teak frame and upholstered fabric.
Very good condition.
The Dane Hans Olsen was an industrial designer and architect. After training as a cabinetmaker, Olsen studied architecture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under the renowned Kaare Kling. There, he focused on ergonomics and anthropometry.
After graduating, Olsen founded his own studio in Copenhagen in 1953 and designed furniture for Bramin Møbel, C/S Furniture, Frem Røjle, Juul Kristensen, N. A. Jørgensen, and Verner Birksholm.
While he never achieved the popularity of a Hans Wegner or Arne Jacobsen, his unique designs are nevertheless highly sought after by collectors today.
