Vintage stoneware salt and pepper shaker set by studio potter Robin Welch (1936–2019) Pottery, from 1977, made in Stradbroke, Suffolk (United Kingdom).
Robin Welch (1936–2019) was one of the most influential British master potters of the 20th century.
This salt and pepper shaker set is a magnificent example of British studio pottery by Robin Welch. The cylindrical stoneware pieces have their body divided into sections: the upper part of mottled clay with a rough texture and hand-drilled holes, followed by horizontal glazed bands with his characteristic turquoise blue, olive green tones, and a textured dark grey base.
Each measures 8.5cm high x 7cm in diameter.
