About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
Exceptional ceramic cylindrical vase, signed and dated 1947 beneath the base, under the layer of paint. This piece, with an unprecedented form and absent from reference catalogs listing the artist's production from 1948 onwards, constitutes a rare testament to his early experiments. Having settled in Golfe-Juan in December 1946, Robert Picault undertook personal explorations as early as 1947 before launching his regular artisanal production from 1948. This unique vase thus illustrates an early experimental creative phase, where the artist explored forms and aesthetic solutions that he did not revisit thereafter. Due to its unique and foundational character, this work stands out as an exceptional document on Robert Picault's initial work and represents a rare opportunity for collectors of modern ceramics. DIMENSIONS: H: 29cm W: 10cm
