Product description
Rob Scholte (born 1958) is a Dutch artist. He studied at the Minerva Academy in Groningen, the Free Academy in The Hague and eventually at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy. Later, he was part of the artists' initiative W139, an exhibition space on Warmoesstraat of artists who wanted to offer an alternative to the (according to them) uniform supply of museums and galleries. Typical of Scholte's work is that he places existing images from the media and advertising in a new context, giving them new meaning. In doing so, the artist also tinkers with our notions of what is real, unique and authentic.
This silkscreen is in beautiful condition and is hand-signed by the artist. The work was created in 2019 and has edition number 101/111. This fun silkscreen is a great starting point to create your own wall mosaic. Mix vintage artwork with posters, photos and contemporary artists. This way you playfully put together your own inspiration wall in your living room or office. In addition to contemporary artists, our extensive collection includes many historical prints that will have you putting together a cool wall mosaic in no time. Find used frames at a thrift store, decide on a centerpiece and look for a playful composition of colored next to black and white and historical, vintage and modern. Easy to expand or swap out.
