Private sellerProduct description
The Molletta bench by Riva 1920, designed by Baldessari e Baldessari, is a sculptural piece of furniture that transforms an everyday object into a bold design statement. This particular version is distinguished by its vulcano cedar finish, a carbonized solid wood that gives it a deep texture and an intense black hue, contrasting with the vibrant red spring mechanism.
Made in Italy in 2016, this bench is carved from a single block of solid cedar wood, highlighting the natural grain and organic characteristics of the material. The vulcano finish, achieved through a surface carbonization process, not only provides a striking aesthetic but also protects the wood. The red metal spring, a central design element shaped like a clothespin, adds a touch of color and a touch of irony.
The bench is in very good condition, retaining all its structural integrity and visual appeal. The charred finish develops a natural patina that deepens over time, highlighting the unique character of this handcrafted piece.
Ideal as an extra seat in a contemporary living room, a spacious entryway, or even a covered outdoor area, the Molletta bench adds a touch of whimsy and sophistication. Its pop art design blends seamlessly into modern, industrial, or eclectic interiors, instantly becoming a focal point.
New condition, purchase cancelled due to change of use.
