Showroom model Rietveld Originals Press Room Chair, upholstered in Kvadrat Steelcut Trio Sand with solid oak armrests. An iconic design by Gerrit Rietveld from 1958. The Press Room Chair was originally designed for the UNESCO building in Paris, as a comfortable lounge chair for journalists in the press room. Due to time and budget constraints, the design was not executed at the time. However, the original drawings and models were preserved, after which the armchair was finally officially put into production in 2014. Steelcut Trio is a high-quality wool upholstery fabric from Kvadrat, consisting of 90% virgin wool and 10% nylon. The fabric has a distinct three-dimensional structure and is built up from three differently colored yarns, creating a rich, mottled appearance.
