About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This room screen, designed by Ludvik Volak, is a striking example of Mid-century Modern design from 1960s Czechia. The piece is characterised by its open, geometric structure, which allows light to pass through while defining spatial boundaries.
Constructed from maple wood, the divider features a series of curved and straight elements that create a dynamic visual rhythm. The light, natural tone of the wood highlights the grain and the precision of the joinery. The design is both functional and sculptural, offering a versatile solution for interior zoning.
The piece has been restored with a revived polish, preserving its original character while ensuring structural integrity. The finish enhances the natural beauty of the maple, reflecting careful maintenance and respect for its history.
Ideal for open-plan living spaces or as a statement piece in a study, this divider complements both vintage and contemporary interiors. Its architectural form pairs well with minimalist furnishings and organic textures.
