About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This restored Bauhaus stool, designed by Robert Slezák in the 1930s, exemplifies the functional elegance of early twentieth-century Czech design. The piece is defined by its continuous tubular steel frame, a hallmark of the modernist movement that prioritised structural clarity and industrial materials.
The stool features a newly upholstered, thickly padded seat in a multi-coloured woven textile, providing a striking textural contrast to the sleek, chrome-plated steel base. The cantilevered design not only offers visual lightness but also a subtle, responsive flex when seated. The meticulous restoration ensures the piece retains its historical integrity while meeting contemporary standards of comfort.
In great condition following its restoration, the stool presents a pristine seating surface and a highly polished chrome finish. The structural elements remain robust, reflecting the enduring quality of Slezák's original manufacturing techniques.
This versatile piece serves as an ideal footstool or auxiliary seat in a modernist or eclectic interior. Its compact footprint and architectural lines allow it to integrate seamlessly alongside other Bauhaus classics or contemporary furnishings.
