About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Conceived in the spirit of interwar functionalism, this generously proportioned sofa dating from the 1930s in Czechoslovakia bears the distinctive hallmark of the renowned manufacturer Robert Slezák. The artistic and structural concept of this piece relies on modernist principles of optical lightness, uncompromising ergonomics, and the confident use of industrial materials. Its architectural framework rests on a robust base of bent chromed tubular steel that merges geometric purity with a dynamic horizontal arrangement. The outstanding aesthetic appeal is accentuated by new professional upholstery in high-quality red leather, complemented by elegant white piping and versatile supporting bolsters.
The item has undergone a highly professional and sensitive restoration process, including thorough professional cleaning of the metal components alongside the execution of new professional upholstery. Expert restorers thus successfully restored one hundred percent structural integrity and maximum visual impact while strictly preserving the object's authentic historical patina and exceptional collector value.
Thanks to its prestigious origin in Robert Slezák's workshop and the timeless handwriting of Czechoslovak Bauhaus, this sofa serves as an excellent element for interiors emphasizing top-tier design. It perfectly enhances representative living spaces, luxury lounges, or stands out as a striking solitaire in an architecturally demanding environment.
