About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This elegant Bauhaus sofa from the 1930s is an exceptional example of Czechoslovak functionalist design. It was produced by the renowned Slezákovy závody and has been meticulously restored to its original glory.
The frame is crafted from tubular chrome-plated steel, which has been expertly cleaned and polished. The base includes a flexible wire mesh support, which holds a single-piece mattress that is designed to prevent sagging in the seating area. The legs and a decorative rail are made of beech wood with a revived original polish, adding a warm, natural element to the sleek chrome.
This sofa is highly versatile and perfect for both sitting and lounging. Its design allows it to be disassembled into separate parts, making it easy to move into spaces with difficult access. The sofa features new professional upholstery in a period-appropriate houndstooth fabric, ensuring an authentic look and long-lasting durability.
This piece is more than just a sofa; it is a piece of design history that combines timeless style with practical functionality.
