ProfessionalProduct description
This small dissociative table by Mücke-Melder exemplifies the functional elegance of 1930s Czech Bauhaus design. The piece features a distinct drop-leaf mechanism, allowing the surface area to be expanded or reduced as needed, making it a versatile addition to compact spaces.
Constructed with a tubular chrome frame, the table supports a black wooden top and a single drawer with a matching chrome pull. The contrast between the sleek, reflective metal and the deep black finish highlights the modernist aesthetic of the era. The table's compact dimensions and clean lines are characteristic of the Bauhaus movement's emphasis on utility and form.
The table has been restored, preserving its structural integrity while maintaining the character of its age. The chrome frame remains bright, and the wooden surfaces show a consistent finish, reflecting careful restoration work that respects the original design.
Ideal for use as a side table, a small desk, or an accent piece in a hallway, this table integrates seamlessly into both vintage and contemporary interiors. Its historical significance and practical design make it a compelling choice for collectors of early 20th-century modernist furniture.
