About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This rare table lamp comes from Vienna, dating to the 1910–1920 period, and represents a fascinating artistic artifact situated between the peak of Art Nouveau and the emerging geometric elegance of Art Deco. The ceramic base, adorned with fine ornamental decor, carries the typical Viennese refinement and attention to detail characteristic of this period and region. The combination of high-quality ceramics with a period textile lampshade trimmed with fringe gives the lamp an authentic historical character, creating a unique atmosphere that blends luxury with a sense of warmth.
The design and aesthetics of the lamp are built on a harmonious dialogue between the sculpturally shaped ceramic stand and the softness of the shade, making it an exceptionally decorative interior element. Thanks to professional restoration and a complete revision of the electrical system, the lamp is fully functional and safe for contemporary use without compromising its historical integrity. The expert intervention has preserved this piece in perfect condition, underscoring its artistic value and ensuring it continues to serve as a functional object of art.
Given its age, geographical origin from a center of European culture, and excellent restored condition, this lamp holds high collector and market value. For design enthusiasts, it represents a unique centerpiece that embodies the genius loci of Viennese Secession and early modernism. This artifact is not merely a source of light, but an investment in art history that, due to its aesthetic appeal and historical significance, retains its allure even after more than a century.
