ProfessionalProduct description
This restored Art Deco seating set, attributed to Josef Hoffmann for the Wiener Werkstätte, represents a significant piece of early 20th-century Czech design. The set's distinctive curved silhouettes and slatted backs are characteristic of the era's transition towards modernism, offering a compelling blend of geometric form and functional elegance.
Crafted from wood with a rich, dark finish, the set includes a two-seater bench, two armchairs, and a coordinating circular table. The seating pieces feature upholstered seats and back panels in a beige textile with a subtle, textured pattern, accented by decorative trim. The table incorporates a black top and a lower shelf, supported by fluted legs. The set's construction reflects the meticulous craftsmanship associated with the 1910s production period.
The set is in good condition, having been restored to preserve its structural integrity and aesthetic appeal. The wood exhibits a patina consistent with its age, revived original polish and professionally cleaned preserved original upholstery remains intact, contributing to the set's authentic character.
This seating arrangement is well-suited for a refined living space, a sophisticated study, or a classic conservatory. Its historical provenance and timeless design make it a striking focal point in both traditional and eclectic interiors.
