About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a set of two Aviator Streamline Bookcases from Restoration Hardware, crafted in a style that evokes the golden age of aviation. The design is directly inspired by the gleaming, riveted fuselages of mid-20th-century fighter jets, translating industrial aerodynamics into a functional piece of furniture.
The construction features a solid wood frame clad in hand-polished aluminium panels, accented with exposed steel screws. Each bookcase offers five fixed shelves, providing ample space for display and storage. The silver-toned metal finish and rounded, streamlined corners are hallmarks of the Aviator collection, which celebrates the fusion of machine-age aesthetics with modern design principles.
Presented in great condition, the bookcases exhibit the intentional distressing and minor imperfections inherent to their handcrafted nature. This finish gives each piece a unique character and an authentic industrial patina, suggesting a history without compromising structural integrity. The polished surfaces reflect light, adding a dynamic quality to their environment.
This pair of bookcases would make a strong statement in a home office, study, or living area. They are particularly well-suited for interiors with an industrial, modern, or eclectic theme, and can be paired with other pieces from the same collection to create a cohesive and impactful design scheme.
