Exceptional Italian design coffee table, attributed to Renato Polidori for Skipper, model Faraone, designed around 1979. The table has been assessed based on photographs by two specialized auction houses; both Cambi Casa d’Aste and Venduehuis Den Haag consider it an attribution to Renato Polidori. The table features a distinct architectural construction and combines three high-quality materials: solid marble, brushed metal, and glass. Four heavy marble corner legs form the base. Two deep slots are cut into each leg into which the metal support rails fit. The large square glass tabletop rests on these rails. The marble legs have a beautiful natural grey-white pattern, making each corner element unique. The table is in very beautiful vintage condition. The marble is particularly well preserved and displays a natural, heavily marbled pattern. The glass and metal parts are also neat considering their age. Any light signs of use are consistent with the age of the furniture. A few scratches and some oxidation on the steel. The dimensions, material combination, and characteristic construction correspond to documented examples of the Faraone by Renato Polidori for Skipper. Due to the size and weight, pick-up only. The table can be completely disassembled for transport. A special collector's item for lovers of Italian design, 70s design, Skipper, Renato Polidori, and collectible furniture.
