Product description
Approximately 400 years old, almost two meters high and with an impressive, yet understated appearance. This Renaissance throne chair in solid oak probably dates from the end of the 16th or the beginning of the 17th century. A spacious storage chest is hidden under the seat. Chairs of this type were used for ecclesiastical ceremonies and official ceremonies, and later in the large halls of country houses. The wooden pegs and deep warm patina testify to a largely authentic piece. The seat hinges were added later, possibly in the 19th century. Monumental, sober and full of character: a sculptural statement for a large hall or living room.
