Product description
This is a vintage 'Rembrandt' wall telephone, a classic model issued by the Dutch PTT. Its design is a prime example of mid-20th century telecommunications aesthetics, characterized by the combination of warm, natural materials and functional design.
The device is made with a solid wooden mounting plate and features brass components, including the distinctive handset hook and the rotary dial. The handset itself has a wooden handle, providing a comfortable grip, and is connected with an authentic, textile-braided cord. This model was produced in the Netherlands and was a standard part of many households and offices at the time.
The telephone is in good, vintage condition consistent with its age. The materials show an authentic patina that contributes to the historical character of the object. It is a decorative piece that brings the charm of a bygone era of communication into the home.
As a distinctive decorative object, this Rembrandt telephone adds a nostalgic and stylish accent to an interior. It fits perfectly into a classic, retro, or eclectic decor, for example, in a hallway, study, or as a unique conversation piece on the wall.
