Sanguine engraving "Reclining Nude" signed Jean Auguste Vyboud - framed and glazed. For sale, a magnificent landscape-format sanguine engraving depicting a reclining female nude, her back to the viewer, in a languid, very academic pose. The line work is exceptionally fine, typical of the artist's mastery of delicate renderings of skin, drapery, and hair. 🎨 The Artist: Jean Auguste Vyboud (1872-1944), French painter and master engraver, Grand Prix de Rome, renowned for his excellence in intaglio printing. ✍️ The Artwork and Support: Original print, hand-signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right corner. Superb print on heavyweight art paper with generous margins. The plate mark (the indentation left by the copper plate during printing) is clearly visible, attesting to the traditional printing process. 📏 Dimensions: Overall frame: 34 x 22 cm (horizontal format). Internal image (inside the mount): 10 x 24 cm. ✨ Condition: The print: The paper is in very good overall condition, clean and clear, without foxing. The frame: Varnished wood frame (mahogany tone), under glass, matching the artwork. The back is neatly covered with kraft paper and fitted with its hanging ring. Note for complete transparency: a very slight gap at the bottom right corner of the frame (see last photo), which does not affect the overall sturdiness and is barely visible once the artwork is hung. This refined print would also make a superb companion piece to the print "Nude from Behind" (portrait format) by the same artist, currently for sale.
