Recent (2026) painting. A powerful and atmospheric artwork that fits perfectly in
a modern or warm interior and immediately adds character to the space.
Nicola Rozemeijer (born 1955 in Amsterdam and works in Utrecht) attended the academy in
Amersfoort (1st grade) and the Royal Academy in 's-Hertogenbosch. Initially,
Rozemeijer creates monumental works of clay and later objects and installations
of wood, metal, and cement. She has also always drawn and painted, and
just like with her sculptures, she manages to evoke a unique atmosphere with these.
People, animals, patterns, or buildings—really nothing special. The visual
outside world influences her inner world and returns to the canvas in a blended way. In
recent years, Nicola Rozemeijer has been particularly fascinated by spaces, buildings, and
reflections. Recognizable objects, but not an exact representation of reality.
There is room for association and the attribution of meaning, each from their own
memory or perspective. Nicola Rozemeijer has exhibited extensively. She has received several grants, and her work is included in various art lending institutions, private collections, and corporate collections.
