Product description
This vintage daybed, crafted from rattan, is a characteristic example of Dutch furniture design from the mid-20th century. The piece embodies the popularity of natural materials and artisanal wickerwork, often associated with the Noordwolde style.
The daybed is entirely constructed from rattan, combining bent and woven techniques to create a structure that is both sturdy and airy. The design features an open, woven lying surface and elegantly raised, rounded ends that function as subtle armrests. The base is formed by rattan loops that serve as legs, contributing to the flowing and organic silhouette. The natural, light brown color of the rattan gives the furniture a warm and authentic appearance.
The furniture is in good vintage condition, with a patina consistent with its age and use. The structure is solid and the wickerwork is largely intact, testifying to the quality of the original craftsmanship. The character of the daybed is enhanced by the traces of time, which give it a unique and lived-in appearance.
Thanks to its light and open design, this daybed is a versatile addition to various interior styles, from Bohemian and Scandinavian to Mid-Century Modern. It functions excellently as an extra seat in a living room, as a resting place in a conservatory, or as a decorative element in a spacious bedroom.
