Product description
Rare wall-mounted magazine rack with three superimposed compartments attributed to Jacques Adnet, created around 1955. A remarkable example of post-war French modernism and the high-end saddlery work characteristic of the designer.
Manufacturing Details & Authenticity:
* Leather: Black full-grain leather with original patina, hand-assembled with remarkable saddle stitching (original ecru thread). Manual skiving and thinning of the leather at the flaps and rear assemblies.
* Hardware: Non-magnetic brass buckles and suspension eyelets, showing a beautiful patina of use and age. Some marks from the old fastening system.
Dimensions: Height 65/66 cm × Width 23 cm.
Provenance & References:
A model of great rarity, almost impossible to find on the current market. An identical example is listed and documented in the archives of the prestigious Galerie Portuondo (Ref. Art ID: 17551). See last photo.
Condition: Very good original vintage condition. The leather is supple and solid, the natural patina testifies to its authenticity and age (seventy years of history). No tears, perfectly preserved seams.
