An exceptional and very rare XL variant round solid pine table in the iconic Scandinavian Brutalist style of the mid-20th century. This characterful design is strongly inspired by the work of the Danish designer Rainer Daumiller.
The design is characterized by its robust form and the honest use of natural materials, resulting in a piece of furniture with a powerful and authentic appearance.
This specific example offers unique flexibility thanks to the included extra XXL extension leaf. This allows you to transform the table from a generous design family table to a gigantic dining table for larger gatherings.
Flexible in use in two configurations:
1. The Base (Ø150 cm): The original, heavy tabletop made of solid pine wood, 3.2 cm thick. Over the decades, the wood has acquired a beautiful, warm honey-colored patina. Comfortably seats 6 to 8 people.
2. The XXL Mode (Ø188 cm): With the included extra extension leaf (2 cm thick, made of a lighter wood-like material), you can increase the diameter to a generous 188 cm. Perfect for extensive dinners or parties with 10 to 12 people.
Ingenious design and construction:
The absolute highlight of this table is its organic tripod base. The three thick, round solid pine legs cross each other at the exact center and are held together by robust, characteristic bolts. This architectural masterpiece ensures an extremely stable construction and guarantees maximum legroom all around: there is no obstructive framework at the edges, and no one will bump their knees.
Condition:
The table is in beautiful, solid vintage condition. The original finish has been preserved, allowing the warm, natural color and the texture and depth of the wood to come into their own. The construction is solid, and the table is fully functional, ready for a new chapter.
