Rare Vintage Smoking Set by Romano Bianchi, Italy, 1960s
A rare and striking three-piece smoking set designed by Italian sculptor Romano Bianchi in the 1960s. A beautiful example of Italian craftsmanship from the Mid-Century Modern era.
The set consists of a table lighter, a hinged-lid box, and a sculptural ashtray. Each piece is hand-carved from genuine alabaster in Volterra, Italy, a town renowned for its centuries-old tradition of stone craftsmanship.
The intense emerald-green colour and rugged, almost raw exterior give the set a distinctive Brutalist character. This contrasts beautifully with the smooth, polished interiors, where the natural veining and subtle translucency of the alabaster are showcased.
A rare and highly decorative collection with a strong sculptural presence, making it an exceptional addition to a vintage or design-inspired interior.
The set is in excellent condition.
