Product description
Very elegant oriental covered silver-plated serving dish, probably of Moroccan manufacture, composed of a tripod tray with two handles, a removable intermediate element, and a domed lid with a ball knob. Vintage from the mid-20th century, 1950s-1970s. Beautiful classic and sober line, highlighted with beaded friezes, handles and feet with shell decoration. The inside of the lid bears an stamped mark consisting of a five-pointed star surrounded by Arabic characters.
40cm maximum width with handles, 30cm maximum diameter for the tray, 4.8cm high for the base alone. Intermediate element 25.5cm in diameter and 4cm high. Lid 21cm in diameter, 9cm maximum height with the knob, approximately 6cm without. Very good general condition for its age, with a slight residual patina despite recent cleaning including a lighter area, and some usual scratches on the exterior. The interior shows discreet desilvering, underlying metal also silver-plated (alpaca?), small traces of oxidation and more marked usual scratches on the bottom of the tray. Approximately 2kg.
