About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
This vintage highboard is a fine example of Danish cabinetmaking from the 1960s, attributed to designer Poul M. Jessen. The piece embodies the core principles of the Mid-Century Modern movement, combining functional storage with a clean, sculptural form.
Crafted from teak, the highboard features a warm, expressive wood grain throughout its construction. The upper section has smooth sliding doors, while the central part is organised with a bank of four drawers featuring organically shaped recessed pulls. The entire cabinet is elevated on a distinctively shaped solid wood base, a characteristic detail of high-quality Danish furniture from this period.
The piece presents in very good condition, retaining its original finish and showcasing the natural patina that has developed over decades. The construction is solid and the joinery reflects the high standards of its era, indicating it has been well-cared for throughout its life.
As a versatile and substantial storage solution, this highboard serves as an elegant focal point in a dining room or living space. Its timeless design integrates seamlessly into interiors ranging from classic Scandinavian to more eclectic, contemporary settings.
The item will be shipped directly from our Danish warehouse. Delivery approx 3-4 weeks
