RARE small vase made by Huisenga and van Amstel at De Aarden Kruik Pottery in 1907.
Lambertus Huisenga and Meine Huisenga started the L. Huisenga pottery in Purmerend in the forge and coal storage of their father, Meine Huisenga Sr. After a year, they found a new partner, Mr. van Amstel, and the firm changed its name: Van Amstel and Huisenga. In 1907, they moved to Zaandam under a new name: De Aarden Kruik Pottery. On October 11, 1907, a fire destroyed the entire building.
This earthenware vase is one of the few surviving pieces from the firm, which had a production run of only a few months.
