A rare pair of Dutch modernist chairs from the 1960s, characterized by their striking geometric construction and distinctive T-shaped backrests. The radically reduced design is built from strong horizontal and vertical elements, giving the chairs an architectural, sculptural and highly decorative presence. Crafted from solid oak and stained hardwood, the contrasting wood tones emphasize the construction. The extended T-shaped lower supports, exposed joinery and straightforward use of material reflect the functional and experimental character of Dutch modernist design of the period. Condition Very good vintage condition with minimal signs of wear consistent with age and use. The wood displays a beautiful natural grain and warm patina.
