Rare Mid-Century Modern 4-Piece Planter Set – "Marocco" Decor by Hans Welling for Ruscha Keramik. Up for auction/sale is a spectacular and exceptionally rare trio of vintage nesting flower pots/planters (Übertöpfe) from 1950s West Germany. Designed by the celebrated artist Hans Welling for Ruscha Keramik in 1956, this collection features the legendary and highly collectible "Marocco" (Morocco) decor. The planters showcase a stunning, tactile matte dark charcoal/brown glaze adorned with hand-incised modernist sgraffito lines. The abstract, geometric fields are hand-painted with vibrant, glossy pastel slips in yellow, white, green, and coral, beautifully contrasted by a striking turquoise-teal glazed interior. Finding a matching set of three planters in different sizes and in such magnificent condition is a true jackpot for serious West German Pottery (WGP) collectors and Mid-Century Modern (MCM) interior enthusiasts.
