Product description
A stunning and rare, presumably (Murano) glass design ceiling lamp by Massive (labeled). The handmade glass, with its gold leaf appearance, is in near-excellent condition, though not smooth around the edges. The effect reminds us of a Gustav Klimt painting (Portrait of Adele Bloch - Bauer). The separate glass shade is attached to the metal ceiling panel with a screw. All major electrical components and fittings have been checked and are in good condition. You can, of course, replace these yourself if desired. We do recommend using energy-efficient LED bulbs. The glass is designed to withstand heat, but we advise handling it with care for safety and durability. The glass is in excellent condition; the brass cap on top shows some signs of age and wear. This also applies to the other metal/brass components. The lamp will be shipped insured and disassembled only, with assembly instructions. Special shipping costs are listed for each country. Background information: From the 1950s to the 1970s, Massive (Belgium) was a major European and global lighting distributor and design company. Many of Massive's designs don't carry a designer label but were designed to order or by the Massive design team. Massive also outsourced parts of the manufacturing and construction to other companies through collaborations, among other things. This also helped to realize and guarantee the quality and uniqueness of their lamps, specifically for various lamps. You are purchasing a beautiful piece of design, history, and rarity.
