The lounge chair is designed by Ate van Apeldoorn for Houtwerk Hattem in the 1970s. Van Apeldoorn, the founder of Houtwerk Hattem, was known for his expertise in woodworking and his particular designs that often incorporated natural materials.
This lounge chair showcases the characteristic craftsmanship and attention to detail for which Van Apeldoorn's designs are renowned. The use of pinewood is well known for the designs by Ate.
