Are you looking for an authentic and rare piece of Bauhaus and Art Deco design? This beautiful, large oval tray was produced by the renowned German manufacturer Steingutfabrik Theodor Paetsch (Frankfurt an der Oder) in the early 1930s. The tray features an abstract geometric pattern of clouds and rays. This decoration was applied using the Spritzdekor technique (stencil spray glaze), which was revolutionary for its time and is recognizable by its refined color gradients. The ceramic is set in the original, richly decorated metal mount with characteristic Art Deco handles and elegant legs, which are in excellent condition. Specifications:

Condition:
The tray is in beautiful, characterful vintage condition with normal signs of age befitting its age of nearly 100 years. The metal rim and handles are completely intact. The glaze has a few very minimal, light spots on the front and subtle discoloration along the edge (see detail photo). On the underside, there is a superficial hairline crack in the glaze; this is purely cosmetic on the back and does not extend to the front. The plate is structurally stable.
Shipping & Packaging:
Collection is preferred given the fragility of the antique ceramics. However, shipping is possible and is at the buyer's risk. The tray will be packed with extreme care and professionally in generous layers of bubble wrap, securely fastened in a spacious box with shock-absorbing padding.
