Rare large antique workshop compass, 82 cm long, made of mahogany with brass rings and steel points.
This piece bears the markings "W. CORBON" on the wood and "MICHELIN & Cie" on a brass ring. The quality of manufacture is remarkable and far superior to that of standard workshop compasses.
Research is currently underway to definitively determine its origin and use. Several specialists believe this type of tool could be linked to Michelin's early workshops, but this provenance remains to be confirmed by the company's archives.
