Product description
This striking rare high back chair is a distinctive piece of 1980s Italian design manufactured by Bonaldo. The chair commands attention through its exaggerated proportions and playful postmodern silhouette, making it a compelling example of the era's experimental approach to domestic seating.
The construction features a robust tubular metal frame finished in a vibrant light blue, supporting a uniquely structured textile backrest and seat. The exceptionally tall backrest is upholstered in a subtly patterned, multi-coloured fabric that contrasts elegantly with the solid light blue textile of the rounded seat cushion. Produced in Italy during the 1980s, the piece reflects the bold geometric forms and pastel palettes characteristic of the period's design language.
The chair remains in fully functional condition, preserving its original structural integrity and character. It exhibits wear consistent with its age and history of use, retaining the authentic patina of a vintage piece. The original upholstery and frame finish remain intact, reflecting its journey through the decades.
With its architectural presence, this chair serves as a sculptural focal point in any contemporary setting. It is particularly well-suited to postmodern interiors, eclectic living spaces, or as a standalone statement piece in a minimalist room, pairing harmoniously with both vintage and modern furnishings.
Backrest and seat covers are removable.
