For sale is this exceptional pair of decorative vintage table lamps in a mystical celestial body design. The lamps come from Spain and are genuine handcrafted unique pieces (studio glass / manufactory work). They impress with their unique Brutalist look, combined with elements of Art Deco and Mid-Century style.
Since they are a perfectly matched pair, they are ideal as a symmetrical eye-catcher for bedside tables, sideboards or chests of drawers.
Design & Special Features:
Origin Spain: High-quality, Spanish craftsmanship (approx. 1970s/1980s), characterized by a robust metal base and delicate glass art.
The Motif: At the center of each is a sculpturally crafted moon face (profile) made of unglazed ceramic/biscuit porcelain. A fine wiping technique with dark pigments gives the facial features a fascinating depth effect.
The Glass: The relief is firmly set in a thick, circular glass pane with a striking blue-turquoise tint – typical of high-quality studio glass work.
The Light Effect (Corona): The E14 socket is hidden on the back in an individually shaped metal shell. When switched on, the light shines against the glass backwards. This creates a beautiful, indirect backlighting (aura effect) reminiscent of a solar eclipse. The face itself remains in atmospheric shadow.
The Base: Heavy, multi-stage metal base with gold-silver patina on small ball feet. The visible, rustic weld spots on the underside and at the foot emphasize the authentic handcrafted character.
