Product description
The Poterie Ludovic workshop having definitively closed its doors, this historic artisanal production no longer exists. Finding a complete set (bowl + intact original grid) in this reactive glaze work is now a true collector's item.
The reactive glaze offers a remarkable organic palette, evoking the elements of nature. It is not a uniform blue, but a fascinating gradient with multiple nuances:
Palette: Cobalt blue and midnight blue background, enhanced with shades of water green, moss green, earthy brown, black, and coppery reflections. Visual effect: A unique mineral rendering reminiscent of wet stone or vegetation at the water's edge.
Artist / Workshop: Poterie Ludovic Dangon (Salins-les-Bains, France).
Period: Circa 1960 - 1970.
Material: High-fired glazed stoneware.
Complete set in 2 original parts:
1. The receptacle bowl with superb turning details.
2. The original removable perforated disc (flower frog) placed at the bottom to hold stems (Ikebana / Kenzan style).
Signature "Ludovic": Incised under the base.
📐 Dimensions:
17x5 cm / 17x8 cm (when the bowl rests on the disc)
Condition:
Perfect original condition / Remarkable vintage condition.
No cracks or chips. The removable grid is intact and the glaze has retained all its brilliance and depth.
A piece that is at once sculptural, poetic, and historical, ideal for collectors of 20th-century French ceramics or enthusiasts of Japanese floral art.
