Large model - Chromed steel, Distrimex Edition 1969.
One of the rare affordable works by this leading French sculptor who lived in the 20th century (1937-1998).
Using innovative materials (acrylic resin, concrete, and aluminum), he showed that truth is not always what one believes. A sculptor of the unusual, he translated his fascination for the space age by creating luminous sculptures titled “Satellites” or “Saucer”. He also created “out of context” and oversized designs to sublimate everyday objects and give them a unique artistic identity, like his Safety Pin sculpture (1975). A safety pin loses its primary function of pinning fabrics to find another function: to hold light. Respectful of his artistic approach, Yonel Lébovici preferred limited edition prints. This requirement made his creations, with their seductive, sophisticated, and subversive design, highly sought after by collectors.
