About this seller
ProfessionalProduct description
Green ceramic vase, spherical with a flared mouth and painted doves, made by Pucci Umbertide in the 1940s. The mouth shows slight signs of age, as illustrated in the images. Additional information / photos are available upon request. Ø 19 cm h 32 cm. The Pucci Manufacture of Umbertide, active in Umbria throughout the twentieth century, is part of the rich tradition of Italian artistic ceramics, distinguished by production with a strong decorative character and continuous research into forms, glazes, and surfaces. Pucci ceramics are characterized by a wide variety of styles: plastic and sculptural forms coexist with geometric, abstract, and figurative decorations, often enhanced by tactile glazes and intense chromatic combinations. Vases, plates, sculptures, and furnishing objects testify to a production capable of combining the Umbrian artisan tradition with the experimentations of design and decorative arts of the second half of the twentieth century. Particularly appreciated today among collectors of vintage Italian ceramics, Pucci's production represents an interesting example of that creative period in which craftsmanship, art, and design freely conversed, giving life to objects with a strong expressive identity.
