About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This pair of antique ceramic beer steins features traditional German relief motifs. The design is characterised by intricate, raised scenes of tavern life and folklore, set against a deep cobalt blue background with a prominent "Prosit" inscription.
Crafted from glazed ceramic, the steins exhibit a highly detailed, multi-coloured relief technique. The composition includes figures in traditional dress, ornate foliate borders, and a central cartouche with German text. The handles are robustly formed, complementing the cylindrical bodies. The colour palette is dominated by deep blue, accented with earthy tones of brown, green, and cream.
The steins remain in good condition, preserving their original character and the vibrancy of the glazed finish. The relief work is intact, and the overall structural integrity of both pieces is sound.
These steins serve as distinctive decorative objects, well-suited for display in a rustic interior, a home bar, or as part of a curated collection of European ceramics. They offer a tangible connection to traditional craftsmanship and convivial culture.
