A charming mid-20th century tableware piece, where glasswork meets the traditional elegance of silver-plated metal. This bowl is made from beautiful clear pressed glass, entirely adorned with an embossed decoration. A multitude of small raised dots arranged in concentric patterns play with the light and give the glass that characteristic depth of older pieces. The rim is entirely bordered by a silver-plated metal mount, accentuated on the front with a delightful relief decoration depicting a bunch of grapes accompanied by its leaf and tendril. This small detail is what gives it all its charm. Vines and grapes have held a special place in tableware for centuries. Symbols of abundance, conviviality, and naturally linked to wine service and the pleasure of entertaining, they were regularly used to adorn bowls, wine coolers, buckets, and table accessories. With its approximately 15 to 16 cm in diameter and 6 cm in height, this bowl has a lovely presence without being cumbersome. It can hold fruits, sweets, dried fruits, or simply be repurposed as a catch-all dish on a console or coffee table. The glass is in very good condition, with no chips or cracks visible in the photographs. The mount retains a lovely patina, consistent with the age of the piece. A small, charming, bright, and decorative piece, recalling a time when even the simplest table objects received their share of ornamentation.
