Magnificent Pair of Murano Glass Roosters – Mid-Century Art Glass 50s/60s (Top Condition)
Description:
From a well-maintained estate, I am selling this absolutely rare and spectacular pair of large long-tailed roosters (Phoenix/Pheasant) made of (very likely) genuine Murano art glass. A fantastic set for collectors of Italian Mid-Century design!
Details & Special Features:
• Period: Original 1950s / 1960s (Mid-Century Modern).
• Craftsmanship: Hand-blown and free-formed. The solid body is crafted using the artistic Sommerso technique (ruby red core with clear overlay).
• Unique Duo: One rooster shines in deep green tones, its partner in vibrant blue tones. The combs and wattles are accented in fiery orange-red.
• Condition: Display cabinet condition! No chips. Even the extremely delicate, fine claws on the glass feet and the combs are 100% undamaged – an absolute rarity for objects of this age. In picture 10, we presumably see a crack, but externally it is neither palpable nor is there any chipping. From the outside, the entire surface is smooth and without flaking.
Due to the excellent craftsmanship (Sommerso technique, free-formed claws) and design, these are presumably original pieces from Murano (Italy) around 1950/1960. Since no sticker is present, they are explicitly offered in Murano style.
Shipping & Collection:
Due to the extreme filigree nature and fragility of the long glass feathers, collection or – by arrangement – is strongly preferred.
Shipping is exclusively at the buyer's request and risk. In this case, I guarantee professional, elaborate "box-in-box" packaging with plenty of bubble wrap so that the magnificent pieces arrive safely.
Private sale from an estate. The sale is made under exclusion of any liability for material defects, warranty, or return.
