About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a classic Armchairs from the Dutch manufacturer Gispen, designed by Gebr. de Wit, an iconic example of Mid-20th Century Dutch Design. The design is characterized by the combination of an industrial tubular frame with a comfortable, upholstered seat, resulting in a timeless and functional piece of furniture.
The chair is constructed from a chrome-plated steel frame, which provides a sturdy yet elegant construction. The seat and backrest are upholstered in an ocher yellow corduroy fabric, which gives a warm and textured appearance. Black plastic armrests and a contrasting black trim along the edges of the upholstery complete the design and accentuate its clean lines.
The overall condition of the chair is good, retaining its original materials and finish. The upholstery shows only minor signs of wear, but no tears or stains. The chrome-plated and upholstered parts show a character consistent with a carefully used vintage piece of furniture. The construction is solid and the chair is ready for immediate use.
Thanks to its minimalist yet striking design, this Gispen chair fits perfectly into various interior styles, from Mid-Century Modern and industrial to eclectic or contemporary decor. The chair functions perfectly as a dining chair, desk chair, or as a standalone design object in a living room or study.
