Product description
Authentic brass pot lamp – early electric miner's lamp
Beautiful, solid brass pot lamp from the first generation of electric miner's lamps. This type was used from the 1920s–1940s in European coal mines as a safer alternative to open-flame lamps.
The cylindrical casing (the “pot”) originally contained the rechargeable battery. On top is the glass tube, protected by a sturdy metal cage, with a convenient hanging ring.
Features:
Solid brass, beautifully polished
Complete with glass and protective cage
Original hanging ring
Typical construction of early battery lamps (pot lamp)
Condition:
Good condition with normal signs of wear. The brass casing is neatly polished and shines beautifully. Residue from the original seal/battery is still visible at the bottom (typical for these lamps). The glass is intact.
Ideal as a decorative object, industrial interior piece, or addition to a mining or industrial collection
