Product description
Rare, charming small tobacco jar depicting a small tobacco shop, in blue, beige khaki and black enameled terracotta/pipe clay. Old, late 19th early 20th century, circa 1890-1910. Unsigned, manufacturer unidentified. Removable roof forming a lid, with bubbled blue enamel showing many open bubbles and an irregular texture. Varnished interior.
14.5cm high, 11cm max width and approximately 9.5cm in diameter. Very good general condition for its age. A small chip under the base, invisible once placed, a discreet chip on a roof edge and a small visible loss at the tip of the dormer. Some enamel losses on the lower reliefs reveal the orange clay. 765gr.
