Private sellerProduct description
This postmodern glass jug originates from the Tarnowiec Glassworks in Poland, produced during the 1970s. The piece exemplifies the bold, sculptural sensibilities of the era, combining a stark silhouette with a striking contrast in its material execution. Crafted entirely from glass, the vessel features a deep, opaque black body that absorbs light, anchoring its bulbous form. This dark volume is abruptly interrupted by a small, transparent glass loop handle applied to the neck, creating a distinct visual tension characteristic of postmodern design. The jug includes a subtle pouring spout integrated into the cylindrical upper section, merging functional intent with geometric abstraction. The jug remains in highly presentable condition, retaining its original glossy finish and structural integrity. The glass exhibits a natural patina consistent with its age, reflecting its history as a functional and decorative object from the late twentieth century. This distinctive vessel serves as a compelling accent piece within contemporary or eclectic interiors. It pairs exceptionally well with other postmodern objects or minimalist decor, functioning either as a standalone sculptural element or as a striking functional pitcher on a dining table.
