A striking and highly sculptural dining table designed by Koen Dawaele for Pia Manu, the renowned Belgian art and design studio that has been in business since the 1950s. Known for their handmade furniture made of natural stone and patinated metal, Pia Manu pieces are rare and highly sought after by collectors.
This exceptional table has a solid, architectural base consisting of five cylindrical legs of dark, hand-patinated metal. The table top is a beautiful composition of contrasting stone surfaces: one half covered with dark textured slate or natural stone strips, the other half with rose gray granite with expressive veining, laid in a bold, diagonal pattern. A small triangular granite detail accentuates a corner and highlights the craftsman's attention to form and geometry.
This piece has been officially authenticated by the Pia Manu studio as an original creation from the 1990s.
A rare and architecturally powerful table - ideal for collectors of avant-garde European design and unique interiors.
There is one natural hairline crack present in the granite portion of the top - an original feature of the stone that does not affect its structural integrity
