About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a distinctive coffee table from the Postmodern design movement, produced in Italy during the 1980s. The piece is defined by its strong geometric silhouette and a unique textured finish, making it a characteristic example of the era's bold aesthetic.
The table features a substantial rectangular top supported by four thick, block-like legs, creating a monolithic and grounded presence. Its surface is rendered in a deep green hue, with a textured finish reminiscent of turtle shell, and is accented with brass inlay as noted in its design. The construction showcases the Italian flair for combining unconventional materials and forms, resulting in a highly sculptural piece of furniture.
Overall, the coffee table is in a very good state of preservation, consistent with its age. The finish remains vibrant and largely intact, showcasing the quality of its original craftsmanship. It retains the authentic character and design integrity of 1980s Italian furniture design.
As a centrepiece in a living room or seating area, this table makes a confident statement. It integrates well with Postmodern, eclectic, or maximalist interiors, providing a strong anchor point and a touch of artistic flair to the space.
