Private sellerProduct description
This is a distinctive glass bowl on a stand, produced by the Cracow Glassworks in Poland during the 1970s. The piece is a notable example of Postmodern design from the period, characterized by its bold form and vibrant colour.
Crafted from thick, hand-formed glass, the bowl features a striking ruby-red hue that captures and refracts light. The design incorporates a wide, flared rim atop a pedestal base, which is adorned with applied, textured glass details around the stem and foot. This sculptural ornamentation is typical of Polish art glass from this era, showcasing a departure from purely functional forms towards more expressive, decorative objects.
The bowl is presented in good vintage condition, consistent with its age and use. The glass retains its structural integrity and intense colour, with the inherent variations of a hand-finished piece contributing to its unique character. It stands as a testament to the creative spirit of Eastern European glassmaking in the latter half of the 20th century.
As a decorative object, this bowl makes a strong statement on a sideboard, console table, or within a display cabinet. Its saturated colour and unique silhouette allow it to function as a focal point in a variety of interior styles, from Postmodern and Eclectic to minimalist settings where it can provide a deliberate pop of colour.
It contains visible damages which have been shown on pictures.
