The Festival of Fools was a legendary international theater festival for clowns, mimes, and street artists that took place annually in Amsterdam between 1975 and 1984. Initiated by Jango Edwards, among others, it was known for its anarchistic, innovative, and humorous acts. The festival was held at iconic locations, including the old ADM and NDSM sites. The Festival of Fools, an ode to absurdism and anarchy by quirky performers, jugglers, musicians, and magicians, celebrated nine editions. Through his strong visual and verbal jokes, mime, and musical styles, Jango Edwards' fame spread across Germany, France, Italy, and his later homeland, Spain. He performed in Tunisia, Morocco, Colombia, and Australia, and even in Moscow.
