40 x 120 x 4 cm. acrylic paint on canvas
Painted by Britt Kleiberg 1980, Amersfoort
Studio located in Harderwijk
Britt paints animals from all over the world with a story.
This painting of the famous giraffe 'Zarafa' was created quite recently, in 2026.
Positivity, colors, and freedom to roam. The use of color is an important part of her artistic vocabulary: 'Colors make people happy, and I want to bring joy and positivity into the world.' Her palette can represent an animal's natural environment, hunting, or an emotion; depending on what she wants to communicate. And however subdued it may be, the background is part of it. She uses peculiar small shapes of color to 'fill' her animals. 'These represent imaginary continents,' she explains, 'and can represent the areas where the animal belongs, or where it wants to be. In my artistic world, anything is possible.' My animals can roam freely.
