Portrait of a capybara. Painted on canvas. Title: Mister capybara. 20 x 30 x 2 (deep) green background. Painted by Britt Kleiberg 1980, Amersfoort. Studio located in Harderwijk Britt paints animals from all over the world with a story. During the corona period she has put extra spotlight on the Dutch birds! Now she paints the animals from further away in a passport composition. - She graduated in Graphic Design and Styling before finding her calling in contemporary art. Born into a family with a healthy interest in art, she was exposed to art at an early age and started painting at the age of 10. She loved going to museums and is grateful for the early education she received. It has given her the background for her current journey as a contemporary artist. Positivity, colors and freedom to move The use of color is an important part of her artistic vocabulary: 'Colors make people happy and I want to bring joy and positivity into the world. Her color palette can reflect an animal's natural environment, a hunt, or an emotion; depending on what she wants to communicate. And however subdued, the background is also part of this. She uses strange, small shapes of color to "fill" her animals. "These represent imaginary continents," she explains, "and can represent the areas where the animal belongs, or where it wants to be. In my artistic world, anything is possible."
